Thousands of spectators gather for the Miami Lantern Light Festival, a six-week celebration of Chinese culture featuring massive lanterns, inspiring performances, and incredible cuisine.
Each Chinese lantern is custom-built by Chinese artisans from Zigong Tengda Lantern Art and typically takes about two months to complete.
The lanterns appear to be three-dimensional stained glass, and are handmade from hundreds of pieces of silky cloth..The lantern show features different lantern themes such as animals and sea life, holiday traditions, and Florida’s sun and beach.
The festival is laid out on 15 acres of space. These hand-crafted masterpieces can stand up to 30 feet high and 300 feet long. Two of the highlights are a 400-foot-long dragon and a lit up panda..
